Residential Air Filter

Air Filtration

First, the good news. Keeping the air in your home clean is as simple as regularly replacing your furnace filter. Now the bad news. Many homes have blocked, torn or missing air filters. Many people select the wrong type of filter or don't replace the filter when they should. We've even met people who don't have any idea what we are talking about! As a result, dirty air filters are the #1 reason for HVAC system failures.

A dirty air filter (or wrong type of filter) restricts the airflow into your system's air handler. This restricted airflow places additional strain on the furnace fan motor and could, over time, burn out the motor and cause your system to overheat and ultimately fail. Filter replacement is a small price to pay to extend to life of one of the biggest financial investments in your home.

You may be surprised to learn that simply using the most efficient filter available is generally not the right answer. This is because as filter efficiency increases, there is a corresponding increase in the level of airflow resistance. A highly efficient filter may restrict airflow to a level that will damage your HVAC system by placing additional strain on the fan motor. Contact Wojo's for a free filter inspection. We are happy to help you make a wise choice.

  • Health & Comfort – If your air filtration is poor, your A/C and Furnace pushes dirty air full of dust and allergens throughout your home. These contaminants are re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in your air ducts. Up to 40 pounds of contaminants is created annually through normal everyday living. According to WebMD, “Before turning on heat the first time, get ducts cleaned. Otherwise, you'll get blasted with mold and other allergens.”
  • Cost Savings – A dirty air filter makes your fan motor work harder and consume more energy. One of the easiest and quickest ways to reduce your energy bill is to replace your air filter.
  • Air Duct – A dirty air filter makes your heating and air-conditioning systems and your ducts get dirty faster. This can lead to costly cleaning expenses or to a need to replace your units sooner than you expected.
Residential Air Purification

Air Purification

Air purifiers are used to reduce the concentration of airborne contaminants and are useful for people who suffer from allergies and asthma. The air in your home is under constant attack from dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and dust mite feces which triggers allergies in sensitive people. Smoke particles and volatile organic compounds also pose a risk to health. To combat these contaminants, Wojo's offers air purifiers that are capable of capturing nearly all bacterial, viruses, and damaging particulates.

Wojo's offers the Lennox PureAir air purification system, which is on par with systems found in surgery rooms in hospitals. The PureAir air purification system eliminates over 95% of particles such as dust, pet dander and pollen down to the 0.3 Micron size, over 90% of micro-organisms and bio aerosols such as mold spores, dust mites, and bacteria down to the 0.01 micron and approximately 50% of VOCs such as those from cleaning supplies, solvents and other chemical vapors as well as household odors like those from cooking and pets. The UVA lamps aid the system in eliminating these odors by activating the catalyst on the PureAir insert, which turns them into harmless carbon dioxide and water.

Residential Dehumidifier

Humidity Control

Humidity in your home comes in two levels: too much and too little. Both are uncomfortable and both are bad for your health, your home and belongings. Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor in the air. Dehumidifiers and humidifiers are devices that regulate the humidity in your home. Indoor humidity levels should ideally remain between 30 and 50 percent.

Dehumidifiers - Summer

Excessive humidity in the home can create environments where mold, mildew and bacteria thrive. Using patented technology, a Humiditrol whole-home dehumidification system helps maintain optimal moisture levels. Manages the moisture in your home's air for greater comfort and improved indoor air quality.

Humidifiers - Winter

During the winter, heating systems dry out the air in your home. The indoor humidity levels of furnace-heated air can drop to 10 percent or less.

A whole-house humidifier attached to your home's HVAC system adds much-needed moisture to the air. Humidifiers have several benefits. Humidifiers ease the symptoms of dry skin and chapped lips. Increased humidity also soothes dryness, irritation or itchiness in the nose, nasal passages, sinuses, mouth, throat and eyes. Humidifiers benefit people with a cold, flu or allergies. Low humidity levels worsen symptoms of eczema and psoriasis.

Our knowledgeable staff will help you select the humidity control system that is best for you and your home.
